While you are in the doggy position you may want to try what is known as "riding the pony".

This sex position is nothing more than the doggy position along with him gently grasping her hair to hold her head back. With very slight pressure on her hair (guys don't yank on it unless she asks you to!) you can keep her body straight and taut while you thrust forward. Of course this position only works with woman that have longer hair.
