Taking Sexy Videos and Photos - Can You Say "Home Grown" Porn?
Making your own porn, whether for your enjoyment or to share with others touches upon several human instincts that are quite common to both men & women. The first two are exhibitionism & voyeurism. Not everyone will admit it but human beings love to show off. I believe this stems from fighting for attention as a child all the way up to clawing through life trying to get ahead in the world.
Getting noticed means many different things to people, whether attracting a mate or lover or just getting that promotion at work. What this does to many people is to fuel their exhibitionistic tendencies. At the other end of the spectrum is the amazing appetite humans have for watching things. We are voyeuristic by sheer nature. Humans are plain & simple voracious voyeurs (say that 10 times fast). Granted, explicit photos or videos are the extreme of this behavior for the "average" person, but then again I think every member of this site has decided to not be average!
Food For The Eyes!
Sexual stimulation can come in many forms but very often it arrives wrapped in a rented DVD, rated X. I will admit this is quite often geared towards men & has been for many, many years. More & more though women are discovering the visual stimulation of pornography. With that in mind I must ask you one question. What would be more stimulating than photos or video of the two of you making love? At this point in time I expect most of the men are saying "yeah!" & the women have a strange look on their face thinking "Is he crazy?" Maybe I should explain how my wife & I first entered this area. After watching a few of the "off the shelf" plotless porn movies, she made a comment to me that we could probably make a better movie than most of these. The rest is history & you know what, we do make a better movie......well at least for us.
A Few Precautions
Venturing into the world of erotic photography & videos, while quite exciting & stimulating does have some inherent dangers. Mainly I'm referring to having these items found by children, friends or relatives. One of the best commercials I've seen on TV lately is the one where the guy brings back the video to the store & then realizes it was his home made video. As funny as this is in this commercial I don't think anyone wants this in real life. For this reason we offer the following tips:
- Buy a safe or install a lock on a drawer to keep these items, especially if you have children. Make sure the key to this protection is either in your possession at all times or very well hidden. Children have a tendency to become very curious of mommy & daddies room as they grow up!
- If you have a will drawn up put a clause in it about any such items, along with their location & make sure they are found & destroyed by court order prior to anyone viewing them. I know this sounds a bit morbid but I can't even imagine what would happen if after you died your family were to find these items while cleaning out your house!
- Use caution when posting any such items on the web. Personally I would only post these photos to sites that were of a membership nature & were protected from children's (and your neighbor's) eyes.
One last word of advice for those of you editing your photos on your computer & using Windows. Any photo you view on your system has a shortcut automatically stored in the document menu. To see what I mean press start & scroll up to documents. A pop out menu will appear & a history of both documents & photos is listed. If you were editing a photo called us-sex.jpg last night, your child can go to this menu & click on the us-sex file & it will open, no matter where you have hidden it on your hard drive! To eliminate this problem always clear the document history after editing or viewing any such items. To do this simply right click on your bottom toolbar & scroll up to properties. When the menu appears click on the start menu tab & hit the button that says "clear document history". This will remove all items from that menu. So much for the computer class (you'll get my bill next month) let get to the photos!
Equipment & Processing
The modern age of cameras has been a windfall for all who want to be home erotic photographers. Instant & digital cameras, as well as video cameras almost seem like they were built for this very use. Even if your budget prohibits an expensive digital camera, although they have come down drastically in price, there are great instants that will allow you to get started. Regular film cameras can be used but the problem of developing these photos then comes into play. Although there are services that say they are for this purpose & promise privacy, we've never had the guts to try. Instant photos have come a long way over the years & scanning these photos into your computer is even easier.
Many of the new image editing programs available today can take an instant photo & edit it into a very professional looking picture. The biggest problem with instant cameras is the fact that you usually have a heck of a time getting good shots because most of these don't have a timer on them. The only way to beat this problem is to break down & buy a digital camera with a timer. These can now be purchased for under $300 & come with the software & cables to import them into your computer. Every shot on this site was done with a camera that only cost $300 & a good photo editing program so professional results are within your reach. We would also recommend a good tripod. These tripods fit all cameras & video cams. Once you have the equipment the rest is basically up to your personal preferences.
Set the Mood as Well as The Shot
If your going to do it you may as well do it right. Set up whichever room you plan to shoot in before hand. Remove pictures & other such things that may appear in the shot. Make sure your lighting is warm but not too dark. Allow her to put on make up & do her hair & him to shave. Watching these little things will give you the results you desire. One final word on this subject is the throw away rule. If your lover absolutely hates the way they look in a certain photo, have the decency to destroy it. Not doing so will put a big damper on any future photo sessions & never, & I DO MEAN NEVER, post a photo somewhere with out your lovers permission or let anyone else see them. Not following this simple rule of respect for your lover can cause more damage to your relationship than you could possibly imagine.
